Sunil Garodia Linus tackles things head-on. He takes sides in his analysis and it fits excellently with our editorial policy. No 'maybe's' and 'allegedly' for him, only things in black and white.

The four Shankracharyas have decided not to attend the pran pratishta ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. They have said that according to Hindu shashtras and Sanatan Dharma, holding such a ceremony in an 'incomplete' temple is prohibited. But they have failed to describe what constitutes an 'incomplete' temple. The main area of the temple where the idol is placed and the consecration takes place is the sanctum sanctorum or the garbha griha. Once it is complete in all respects, and that includes the space for parikrama and the mandap where the devotees can congregate to offer prayers, the garbha griha is sanctified and the idol can be placed with pran pratishta. All other areas of the temple are either for decorative purposes or used as entry and exit passages to manage crowds. There is no bar in Hindu dharma to complete them later. A temple is 'incomplete' only when the garbha griha is not complete in all respects and holding a consecration ceremony in such a temple is barred in Hindu dharma. Hence, one fails to understand the objection of the Shankracharyas.

Further, if one talks about what is barred in Hindu dharma then the entire Ram Janambhoomi temple journey is a story of things done which were against Hinduism. The bringing down of the Babri Masjid was against Hinduism as Hindu dharma does not permit its adherents to destroy and desecrate places of worship of other religions. Then, stealthily placing the Ram Lalla idol under the central dome of the then existing structure in 1949 was also against Hindu religion. Also, holding a silanyas in 1989 at the then disputed structure was also against Hindu religion. At least one Shankrachayra had said that there was no mosque in Ayodhya thereby supporting the bringing down of the Babri Masjid as according to him it was not a masjid. If they had no objection to all of the above that are not sanctioned by Hinduism, why are the Shankracharyas now protesting the consecration ceremony in a fully completed garbha griha?
