People are talking about Navjot Singh Sidhu and it is not at all flattering. They are talking about his habit of getting out of potentially damaging (to him) situations by running away; leaving without informing or completing the discussions; or resigning. People say that he thinks too much of himself and his decision-making powers and is not a team player. Also, they say that when he discovers that he will have to work under someone and accept ideas and decision not in sync with his own, he almost always balks and turns his back on the job.

People say that he left the 1996 England tour mid-way after being dropped for the 3rd ODI as his performance was not up to the mark (he scored just 3 and 20 in the first two). But he took it as an affront and left the team and England without informing anyone, just leaving a note addressed to the BCCI president and to be given to the tour manager. People say that it has now come to light that he thought that the then skipper Md. Azharuddin was abusing him regularly while what he thought was an abusing term is often a term of endearment commonly used in Hyderabad. Instead of confronting the captain and sorting things out, Sidhu, as is his wont, just left.

People say that when he did not get the ticket for the Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency in 2014 (which went to Arun Jaitley), he turned his back on Jaitley, someone whom he called his political guru. He left the BJP when it became apparent that he will not get any solid post. He also did not have the courtesy of informing AAP, with whom he held many meetings to wrangle posts for his wife and himself, that he would not join them and held a press conference to announce the same. Later he joined the Congress. People say some of the videos circulating on social media at that time showed the kind of person he was. The videos showed how he used verbatim phrases and couplets to praise the Gandhis that he had once used to praise Narendra Modi. People say Sidhu is a chaploos with a gift of the gab and uses that to curry favor.

But they say that he is a highly unpredictable and unreliable person as his recent resignation as the PCC chief in Punjab shows. People say that he betrayed the trust that the Gandhi siblings placed in him by sidelining a senior leader like Capt Amarinder Singh. He did not even have the courtesy to inform them of his decision. People say that using words like "compromise", "honour" and "dignity' is just for show. They say that he realized that it would be difficult for him to become chief minister if the Congress wins in Punjab in 2022 as it would be almost impossible for the party to remove a Dalit face, the present chief minister C S Channi. As report now come in that Sidhu is likely to stay, people say that the Congress will make the biggest mistake by keeping him as PCC chief as this unpredictable man might resign once more if something is not to him liking, again using word like honour and dignity, as if he alone in India's political landscape cares for these words and what they mean. They also say that Sidhu must first learn to respect the honour and dignity of others before standing up for his own.
