When puppets installed by devious armed forces call leaders of other nations arrogant, it only shows their own frustration. Imran Khan didn’t just call Indian leaders arrogant; he also called them “small men”, although in an oblique manner. Khan should realize that India responded quickly to his call for talks and arranged a meeting of foreign ministers on the sidelines of UNGA. But the situation changed thereafter when the Hijbul Mujahideen, backed by ISI, abducted and killed three special police officers attached to the J & K Police. Does Khan seriously believe that India will sit across the table with him if terrorists backed by his nation’s army kill police officers in the country?

If that was not reason enough, Khan’s government went ahead and issued a series of ‘commemorative’ postage stamps glorifying Burhan Wani and other terrorists whom they consider ‘freedom fighters’ who gained ‘martydom’ for Azad Kashmir. This goes against India’s stated stand. India considers those who fight the Indian state in J & K as enemies of the nation. If another nation issues postage stamps glorifying them, it can be interpreted as an act of hostility. Does Khan seriously think that he can continue to irk India, go against its stated positions and still hope to be an angel in the eyes of the world by offering to talk?

Indian leaders are not “small men occupying big offices.” Instead, it is the puppets in Pakistan who are dancing to the tune of their devious army and supporting murderous gangs who create mayhem in India. The Indian government’s decision to call off the talks is sensible. Pakistan has to first create the grounds for holding talks. Otherwise it can continue its proxy war. India is fully capable to defending itself. Khan’s outburst is nothing but a show of frustration as he is not able to shake off the shackles imposed on him by the Pakistani army.
