Lord Ram Is Virajman In His Home

The pran pratistha ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was done today in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, hundreds of state guests and thousands of invitees from India and abroad. It was a culmination of the legal and political struggle to have a grand home for Lord Rama in his birthplace. Although the dispute between Hindus and Muslims over the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site was prolonged, led to several riots and claimed many lives, with the temple already built and inaugurated and the mosque in the process of being built, there has been a closure to the dispute.

Prime Minister Modi recognized this when he said in his speech after the consecration that vinay (humility) must also be the dominant emotion now, along with vijay (victory). He also said that Lord Ram is not aag (fire) but urja (energy) and not vivaad (dispute) but samadhan (solution). He asked those who opposed Ram Mandir's construction to come to Ayodhya and feel the energy.

There might be political opposition to the temple and the ceremony with the opposition accusing the BJP-RSS combine of politicizing the event and making it a Narendra Modi show but there is no denying that it is a historical event. The entire nation watched the live telecast and there were yagnas and ceremonies performed in most major cities and towns where devotees paid obeisance to Lord Ram. In the evening, many housing complexes and markets across the country lit up and people lighted diyas outside their homes. Ram Ki Paudi in Ayodhya was awash with diyas in the evening. Devotees were seen dancing and singing bhajans on the streets of Ayodhya.

It was a display of collective bhakti never seen before in India and that is what made the event so divine.
