The sizzling Sunday was anything but sizzling for the billions of fans of Team India worldwide. After having dominated the tournament since the beginning, India had a bad day and lost to Australia by 6 wickets. The loss left the fans heartbroken. But although they will rue the loss, they must also celebrate the team's achievements in the last one and a half months. India was, by far, the best team in the tournament. They had a well thought out plan, their batters were in awesome form and their bowlers were unplayable at times. Such is the nature of the game in the ODI format that any team can beat any other team on a given day and Australia reserved their best for the final.

Ever since India started the tournament by beating the Australians by 6 wickets, the whole of India has adopted the tournament as another festival to supplement Navratri, Durga Puja, Diwali and Chath Puja that were celebrated during it. Forgetting caste, creed and religion, Indians came together to watch the games and support Team India. All matches were animatedly discussed and dissected during morning walks, in drawing rooms and addas and Indians basked in the achievements of the team - both of the unit as a whole and of individual players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Md Shami, to name just three. Hence, they should not let one bad day in office and the loss of the Cup (however heartbreaking) to forget the immense joy and pride this team has given the nation by winning 10 matches on the trot.
