People are talking about the bottle cap challenge and the way it has taken the world by storm in a short span of a fortnight. Started by Taekwondo expert Farabi Davletchin on June 25, the challenge has been accepted and executed by celebrities including film stars and sports personalities worldwide.

So what is the bottle cap challenge? The cap of the bottle is slightly loosened and the bottle is placed on a hard surface. Then, the person attempting the challenge will make a roundhouse kick and attempt to untwist it without felling the bottle. People say it is fascinating to see the way the cap flies after a successful attempt.

The challenge went viral after Max Holloway, the mixed-martial artist, attempted it. That opened the doors for a host of celebrities like John Mayer and Jason Statham to take it up. In India, actor Akshay Kumar did it in style. Others like singer Mariah Carey abroad and Yuvraj Singh in India, added their own twist to the challenge. People say the challenge acquires another status when people from various fields add their bit to it.

As the challenge goes viral, ordinary people are attempting it and posting their videos on social media. People say that it takes a good level of fitness to successfully execute the roundhouse kick. People say that though it is a passing fad, it will encourage people to start a fitness regimen if they find their friends able to do it but they can’t. That, people say, will be a great thing.
