Sunil Garodia Linus tackles things head-on. He takes sides in his analysis and it fits excellently with our editorial policy. No 'maybe's' and 'allegedly' for him, only things in black and white.

Fresh disclosures in the Satyendar Jain massage case have shown how the AAP has been lying to hide the fact that its minister, arrested in alleged money laundering case and not yet removed from office, has been enjoying undue and illegal favours in jail that is administered by the AAP government in Delhi.

When the videos first surfaced showing Jain lying on a cot in his cell surrounded by several men and a person who was giving him a massage, the BJP alleged that AAP was allowing the arrested minister to enjoy facilities not to be given to an undertrial. AAP responded by saying that Jain had fallen down and his injury needed physiotherapy. It said that the person giving him a massage was a physiotherapist. Even if that was true, it went against law. If Jain was indeed injured, he could have been shifted to the jail hospital or even a private hospital with the permission of the court and medical services could have been provided to him there.

But it has now come to light that the claimed physiotherapist was a rape accused in a Pocso case and as is the 'norm' in Indian jails, VIP prisoners and those with clout often use these undertrials as their personal servants and get them to do various work. Jain was also using his position to get an undertiral give him a massage. AAP was lying when it said that he was being attended to by a physiotherapist for his injury.

It needs to be said that despite Jain not being able to secure bail for his alleged offence, AAP has not removed him as minister in the Delhi government. AAP professes to be a party with a difference. Hence, it should have asked Jain to resign and could have reinstated him once he was cleared by the courts. Further, by now trying to defend his illegal activities inside his jail cell, AAP has proved that there is no difference between it and other political parties.
