The whole country is celebrating India's twin successes at the Oscars this year. Naatu Naatu, the phenomenal song from RRR has won in the Best Original Song category while The Elephant Whisperers has won in the short documentary category.

Ever since it was released, Naatu Naatu has been scaling heights of popularity which culminated in it winning the Golden Globe in the same category last year and the Oscar now. The song, apart from the excellent music and lyrics, has been filmed wonderfully and adds immensely to the value of the film which itself was a huge hit. The song has been composed by M M Keeravani with lyrics by Chandrabose and it was choreographed by Prem Rakshit. On the screen, it was performed by N T Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan and their hook step became immensely popular. The song has an awesome beat and energy to it and has been liked by audiences worldwide.

Directed by debutant Kartiki Gonsalves The Elephant Whisperers is an Indian-American production which tells the story of a Tamil couple named Bomman and Belli who are entrusted with an orphaned and injured baby elephant named Raghu. The documentary shows how they nurse the injured infant back to health and ensure his growth. They also develop a strong bond with the elephant. Set in the Mudumalai National Park in Tamil Nadu the documentary highlights the natural beauty of the location in a wonderful manner. It also explores the life of the tribal people who live in harmony with nature. The documentary has received rave reviews worldwide and is available for viewing on Netflix.
