The Supreme Court has upheld the Constitutional validity of the 2016 note ban in a 4-1 split verdict. It said that the government followed proper procedure in effecting the ban. It dismissed the 58 petitions that had challenged the ban. Justice Nagrathna deliveredf a dissenting verdict.
