As India and Pakistan clash at the T20 World Cup today, cricket fans across the world wait with excitement to watch the fierce contest between the two rivals. This is the first time India will be playing Pakistan in more than two years after the last match at the ODI World Cup in 2019. Since then, India has improved a lot while Pakistan has had its usual talented players but has failed to click as a team in a consistent manner. Hence, while form and history favours India, the T20 format is unpredictable and any team can win on a given day.

India, despite its all-round strength and form, is grappling with the composition of the team, especially the bowling all-rounder who can fill in as the sixth bowler. With Hardik Patel not in the best of nick, the team management's woes have multiplied. Then, Virat Kohli's form remains a matter of huge concern. Otherwise, with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in great nick and Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant expected to fire, India has a great batting line-up. Further, in Jasprit Bumrah, India has one of the best T20 bowlers around. Varun Chakravarthy is the mystery spinner likely to cause problems for the Pakistani batters.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam is the key player and he is likely to make his presence count. In Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali, they have two bowlers who can destroy sides in a matter of a few overs. But the Pakistani fielding is below standard and they often fail to click as a team. If the talented Pakistani players play to potential, fans can be assured of a cracker of a contest. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has advised the players to display strong body language. It remains to be seen if nerves take over or if the advice is followed.
