As Mumbai Indians square off against Delhi Capitals in the qualifier at Dubai today, the business end of the IPL 2020 starts in real earnest. Both teams are well matched in terms of firepower with Mumbai having the stars while Delhi has proven performers.  The game is likely to become a battle of fast bowlers as both teams have the best new ball bowlers. Mumbai has Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult who between them have taken 43 wickets in this IPL.  Delhi is not far behind with Kasigo Rabada and Anrich Nortje who have taken 44 wickets as a pair.

The match will also be keenly watched for the fitness of Rohit Sharma. On his day, Sharma can destroy any bowling attack in the world. He is a match winner but has not really fired in this IPL. With fitness issues and with the BCCI getting into the act, it remains to be seen if Sharma will play today and if he plays, is able to provide Mumbai with the kind of blazing start only he is capable of.  But this year, with de Kock, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Keiron Pollard and the Pandya brothers chipping in at crunch times, Mumbai is the team to beat.

The Delhi team knows that the odds are stacked against them. They lost both times to Mumbai in the league stage and their batsmen have not really backed the good work of Rabada nd Nortje. While Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer have played a few magnificent knocks, they have not been consistent. Rahane and Prithvi Shaw seem to be having a forgettable IPL this season. For Delhi to beat Mumbai, their players will have to perform to their potential and pounce on every mistake that the Mumbai batsmen make. Otherwise, Mumbai will walk away with the game.
